How to Embed a Widget on Skool

Skool is a popular community and course platform known for its simplicity. However, Skool has very limited embed support — it primarily supports video embeds (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom) and does not allow custom HTML or arbitrary iframe embeds. This guide covers the best workarounds for sharing interactive Embeddy widgets with your Skool community.

Limited Embed Support~5 min readUpdated 2026

Prerequisites

Before you start, you need:

https://embeddy.ai/webhost/WIDGET_ID?widget_props_id=PROPS_ID
  • Skool group admin access. You need to be a group admin to create posts and manage classroom modules.

Embed Limitations

Important: Very limited embed support

Skool is intentionally minimalist and does not support custom HTML, arbitrary iframe embeds, or script injection. The platform only supports video embeds from select providers (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Wistia). There is no custom code or HTML block available in Skool's post editor or classroom module editor.

What IS supported in Skool

  • YouTube video embeds (paste URL, auto-embeds)
  • Vimeo video embeds (paste URL, auto-embeds)
  • Loom and Wistia video embeds
  • Link previews (plain URL links)
  • Image and file attachments

What is NOT supported in Skool

  • Custom iframe embeds
  • Custom HTML or code blocks
  • JavaScript or script injection
  • Third-party widget embeds from non-video providers

Classroom Modules

Skool's Classroom feature lets you organize course content into modules and lessons. While lessons primarily support video embeds (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom), you can add links to interactive tools in the lesson description.

  1. 1

    Open the Classroom editor

Navigate to your group's Classroom tab and select the module you want to edit.

  2. 2

    Edit the lesson description

In the lesson editor, add a description below the video. Include a link to your Embeddy widget with a clear call-to-action, such as: "After watching the video, complete the interactive quiz: [link]".

  3. 3

    Save the lesson

Save the lesson. Students see the link in the lesson description and click through to the widget.

Education tip

Pair each video lesson with a linked interactive quiz or assessment. Even though the quiz opens in a new tab, this still creates a structured learning flow: watch the video, then complete the practice activity.

Workarounds

Since Skool does not support custom embeds, here are additional approaches to integrate interactive tools with your Skool community:

Create an external resource page

Build a dedicated page on your own website with all your Embeddy widgets embedded via iframe. Link to this resource page from your Skool community. This gives members a single destination for all interactive tools.

Use Skool's "About" section

Add widget links to your Skool group's About section. This places the links prominently on your group page where all members can find them easily.

Create a pinned "Resources" post

Create a post listing all your interactive tools with their direct links, then pin it to the top of your community feed. Update this post as you add new widgets.

Troubleshooting

My iframe code does not render in Skool

This is expected. Skool does not support custom iframe embeds. Use the direct link sharing method described above. Only video URLs from approved providers (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Wistia) auto-embed in Skool.

The widget link does not show a preview

Skool shows plain links — it does not generate rich link previews for most URLs. The link will still be clickable. Add descriptive text around the link so members know what to expect.

Members report the widget is not loading

Ensure the Embeddy widget is published and accessible. Check the Widget ID and Props ID in the URL. Try opening the link yourself to confirm it works. If members are on mobile, the widget opens in their mobile browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Skool ever support custom iframe embeds?

Skool's design philosophy emphasizes simplicity, so custom embeds may not be a priority. However, Skool does periodically add new video embed providers. Check the Skool changelog for updates. In the meantime, link sharing is the recommended approach.

Is link sharing effective for community engagement?

Yes. Skool members are accustomed to clicking links in posts and lesson descriptions. A clear call-to-action like "Take the quiz" or "Try the calculator" encourages clicks. Pinning important resource posts further increases visibility.

Can I embed interactive quizzes in Skool classroom lessons?

Not directly as an inline embed. Skool classroom lessons only support video embeds from approved providers. However, you can add a link to your Embeddy quiz in the lesson description, which students click to open in a new tab.
